Script - Windows XP Service Pack 2

  • Hi,

Does anyone have a script or offer me some advice on how I can run a script that switches off the Windows Firewall?

    thanks

  • The key is the NETSH command. Specifically:

    netsh firewall set opmode disable

    See: http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/Using-Netsh-Windows-Firewall.html

Alternatively stopping and disabling the "Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)" service will also disable it.

  • Hi,

If I wanted to set this up as a script would I base the script on 'ifservice is running' or can I get the script to run a command session and run the command as you have stated?

    Thanks

  • I would be inclined to make the script "Execute shell command" to run the netsh line. I'm no expert on Kaseya scripting but I suspect that would be easier than writing several lines to stop and then disable the service.
