Obtaining the Product Key from the Product ID

  • Okay, bizarre situation - Client has Server under Managed Services. We have a Kaseya agent on the box. Agent has pulled Software licensing info via the Audit.

    Server has crashed - runs Windows SBS 2003. problem is that the License is a retail license, and resides in the home office in Albany, and they've all left for the evening. Client has a legitimate emergency, needs a rebuild from a tape backup, which requires a CD 1 installation (and therefore the Product Key).

    Does anyone know how to obtain the Product Key from the Product ID when the box is NOT available to run? I found over a dozen utilities to pull the ID when the box is running, but no hints on how to do it with the box NOT running.

    We do not have BUDR on this box (unfortunately).
