Redundant Internet Pipe into Same Kaseya Server

  • We have two internet pipes. Right now the clients are configured to go toour main internet pipe. If our primary goes down we would like the clients to connect to the secondary external pipe. Both External IP addresses will be directed to the same Kaseya server. Is this possible?

  • You can configure the "Primary Kserver" and "Secondary Kserver" in the CHECK-IN CONTROL function of the AGENT tab. Your Primary IP will be your primary pipe, your Secondary IP will be your secondary pipe. If your agents can't check in on their Primary Kserver, they will go to the Secondary Kserver (which in your case is the same box, just through different routers).

  • You could also try a dynamic DNS solution.

Use a dual WAN port router / firewall, with the ability to update a Dynamic DNS provider.

When the internet link cuts over, the the router updates the CNAME record on your DNS record via the dynamic dns provider, and the agents continue to check it.

This is also useful if you host the server without a static IP, or if your ISP changes your IP on you.
