  • On a webinar yesterday regardings MSP's, the Kaseya guy said an easy way to show a business how Kaseya can help it's network is to run an audit, then analyze it to show them what is coming in and out of the network.

The business can then see how people are wasting time downloading audio/video and porn. Those were nearly his exact words.

So how is this done? How do I see a list of website people are frequenting? How do I block them with Kaseya? OpenDNS can do some of that Ive been told, but how does Kaseya help with this?

I would love to be able to do this, just don't know where to look in Kaseya.

    Thanks

  • The easiest way is to monitor the router via SNMP.

The alternative is to monitor the workstation.

I know this response is pretty brief but it's easy once you figure out what to look for, how to look for it, where to find it, and how to Kaseya to present that information to you.

  • They may have been referring to the Network Access features. This requires and optional drive be installed. We have always avoided this feature because we read many posts that mentioned this causing blue screen crashes of servers and workstations. Anyone want to comment and tell their good/bad story here? Has this feature been enhanced by K2008?

We've deployed this to nearly all managed workstations. What I read during my research is that older machines may have problems, but most decently new machines should be fine (say anything less than 3 years old). We deployed the network driver to a few test PCs, rebooted them, and when they came back up properly, deployed to the entire network.
