Remote control of Windows 2000

  • Has anyone been able to remote control a Windows 2000 system. We have tried a 6 or 8 different Win2K workstations and we have been unable to get VNC or KVNC running. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • I have never had a problem using VNC on W2K machines, so there is no fundamental compatibility issue. Make sure you have uninstalled any previous versions of VNC, and make sure that the machines are connecting to your K-Server using the primary address. You can't connect to VNC using the backup address. Also make sure that a program such as Norton is not blocking your connection attempt, or blocking your ability to write to the registry.

Let us know what you find.
