Rather than bump a thread from 2008, I thought I'd start a fresh one:

First off - K2 6.2, KES 2.1, and we've been using KES since 2007

So what we've noticed recently is that in the Security Status screen, sometimes just the "Resident" column is checked, when all 4 columns should be (Resident, Email, Link, and Web) for a particular agent. If we go to the Install screen and click the green checkmark, it shows that they were all selected at install time, and if we go to the machine and run the local AVGUI it shows all modules in place.

And then, spookily, sometimes, they'll all just "light back up". Sometimes they don't, but a "Verify Install" fixes that. However, this is very distressing to the consultant involved, because he relies on those additional modules to lighten his "but the website looked so legitimate" malware cleanup load (leaving aside gripes about the ineffectual blocking in AVG9 for certain payload types!).

Here's a clip of what I'm talking about - not "disabled" when they shouldn't be, just plain not showing, but sometimes they just come back, and sometimes they come back after a verify.

Anyone else run across this, or have some thoughts to share on the matter? And I don't want to hear "KES 2.2" - it doesn't look to me like it brings any advantages to the table whatsoever!

Linkup - you do not need to create a computer account for a new agent. You should install the agent and it will create an account automatically.

This being said Kaseya is a huge product and it would seem you are drowning before you even get started! Never fear. Head over to https://lms.kaseya.com/kedu/ and watch some of the training videos. You will gain a much better understanding of the product and get yourself up and running much faster this way.

Still an issue, we had no issue until last week, then cant install, uninstall, or upgrade KAV at all. I have over 1500 agents dead in the water. As some stated earlier.. Not feeling very liberated at the moment.

We've been using a disk and installing at the machine. Most machines will not take the W-7 Service Pack through the Patch Management Module.

In SSRS create a place holder. Choose the properties of the place holder and on the general tab check the radio button that says, "HTML - Interperet HTML tags as styles". I've done this before with HTML and it worked nicely. I haven't tried XML before but it's worth a try.

That information is pulled by the latest audit. It does a pretty good job with Microsoft products. You can just write a report in Info Center or you can write your own report yourself using SSRS or Crystal or whatever it is you happen to have installed. You could also export all the data using views to drop it to an excel sheet though I found this method not to be very useful for all the time I wasted formatting it after the fact.

For example:

- use kpm for a machine profile

- installs missing standard apps like adobe reader, flash

- updates all with ninite

- removes old av

- installs new av

great! all with a few procedures ...

... is there a way to call a "system kav install procedure"?

FWIW I've seen this happen a time or two in the last year or so. I'd chalked it up to the usual intermittent foibles of email transmission. What you're talking about sounds more consistent than a couple of these a year, though.

Wow think i found my problem. I was using mbam-msp.exe rather than mbam.exe

Still testing but think that was my problem
