QUESTION

After installing KES for Exchange on a Windows 2008 or Small Business Server 2008, and running the AVG Exchange console C:\AVG4ES2K\avg4es2kadm.exe, you see the following error:

SERVER: LOCALHOST
ERROR: AVG for Exchange is not installed or running


This is caused by UAC on these operating system versions interfering with the AVG Exchange console.

 

ANSWER

Please follow these steps to open AVG for Exchange plugin settings:
1. Open directory C:\AVG4ES2K\
2. Right click on avg4es2kadm.exe
3. Click Run as Administrator
4. Confirm elevation of privileges
