A new version of BYOD Gateway is available. How do I upgrade?
Follow these steps to upgrade your BYOD Gateway to the latest version.
1. Download latest BYOD Gateway Installer. The Home tab of the BYOD Gateway Control Panel will alert you when a new version is available.
2. Stop your BYOD Gateway Service.
3. Run Uninstall for your BYOD Gateway. The uninstall does not remove any or your gateway data. This only removes the BYOD Gateway program files.
4. Save your gateway configuration. Your BYOD Gateway saves all its configuration and connector related files in your gateway data directory. It is recommended that you backup the data directory any time you want to capture a working gateway configuration. You can copy saved data directory contents to restore a gateway to a previous configuration by stopping the BYOD Gateway service at any time.

5. If you want to keep your existing registered gateway and the current configuration you can install the new BYOD Gateway over your current gateway. This will allow existing BYOD clients to keep working with the current gateway connections and you can keep all your user, site, connectors, policy and other configuration from the previous gateway. Skip to step 7 to upgrade your current BYOD Gateway and keep your current configuration.
If you are want to install a clean upgrade of the new BYOD Gateway and register as a new gateway follow step 6 before installing the new gateway.
6. Delete your current gateway data directory (only follow this step if you want to delete your current gateway and register a new gateway). If you would like to have the newly registered gateway use the existing gateways site, mail, documents, policies, and other configuration save your BYODGateway.db file before deleting the gateway data directory. The BYODGateway.db file saves all the gateway configuration and can be carried forward to the new BYOD Gateway once activated.

Delete the BYOD Gateway Data Directory and all sub folders. If you have any log files or other data you want to keep make sure to save copies of these files before deleting.
7. Run BYOD Gateway Installer downloaded in step 1.
8. Start BYOD Gateway Service.
Launch the BYOD Gateway Control Panel (http://localhost:1456). If you upgraded an existing BYOD Gateway and did not delete the data directory your new gateway should be up and running again. If you deleted the old configuration you will be prompted to register a new gateway.
If you are registering a new gateway and want the new gateway to use your old gateway configuration then follow step 9. Otherwise skip to step 10.
9. Once your new gateway is activated you can restore your old gateway configuration by replacing the BYODGateway.db file in the data directory with your saved version. You will need to stop the BYOD Gateway service in order to replace the file. Once you replace the BYODGateway.db start the BYOD Gateway service and verify the BYOD Gateway Control Panel shows you old configuration (The control panel is available at http:/./localhost:1456).
10. Connect your client to the new gateway. If you upgraded an existing gateway and did not register a new gateway your clients should connect automatically to your upgraded gateway. If you registered a new gateway you will need to delete the old gateway from your BYOD Suite app Sites list and add the new gateway using its new access code. The access code is shown on the Network tab of the BYOD Gateway Control Panel.
